Hazel has not been herself for about two weeks now. On and off again fever, cranky, odd sleep patterns, runny nose. I just thought "of course it's her teeth". This week she has had odd poop, not diarrhea but almost like breast milk poop. She has been eating and drinking normal so I was not concerned about dehydration. This morning she woke up and couldn't walk. She would just fall down. We could tell it was her right leg so I laid her down and stretched it out for a while. After that she was able to walk but she had a massive limp. Then i noticed it was swollen. That was the last straw we tried to get her into her pediatrician but of course they were full. They recommended we take her to the children's emergency room right away. After an iv, x ray, and blood tests they said they think it's "toxic synovitis". They said it is a disorder that causes a painful hip. It is thought to follow a viral infection. They say it is common among young children and causes no lasting problems.
•What I want to know is what happened to the regular flu or the "common cold", this is not anything that is common to me. Any hooo, PRAISE HIM. We are blessed to have healthy children I could not imagine being hooked to machines and tubes on a regular basis. As always the Lord provided beauty in the midst of a not so beautiful time. 1) the powerful team work of marriage... 2) Isaiah out of no where came over put his hands on Hazel and started praying... 3) western medicine is a privilege... 4) the Lords timing... 5) " A day off work is not what makes this Friday "Good", this is the day when all my sins were nailed into the wood" ~Lecrae
